080621 Out to the Outback (well Clifton anyway)

This week we are headed on one of the new rides we've recently found to Clifton. Meet at the BP Goodna 7am as usual. Then we head up to Grantham through some of the back roads. From there we go south-west to Clifton via Ma Ma Creek. Brekkie will be at Clifton as before. To get home I was thinking of going into Toowoomba via Nobby, Greenmount and Cambooya and then taking the road via Highfields, Hampton & Ravensbourne to Esk and then ending up over Mt G. This is all supposing the weather is good, if any doubts on the day please give me a call in the morning 0418886041.
For those interested last weeks ride & photos (NB Nonna Neil) are on the blog and can be found at http://stayupright.blogspot.com/

Ride Report:
Condolences to the 3 bikers families who died on this weekend in Queensland South East. One near Mailatas, Mt Glorious.Stay upright guys. Safe journey for us up the Range on a brisk morning. Ken, Neil, Lester, Danny, Andrew, Steve, Kim, Mike, and Ducati Jim- last ride for a bit as he is off to Pakistan. Took the back track up through Ma Ma Creek turning right at ESK turnoff- good route as it saves the Ipswich traffic and lights. Stunning day to ride. Kim was the only one to make a solstice day with a 5.30 morning ride up Mt Cootha. Clifton's Brekky was meatballs and pies and tales with a few big brekkys as well. Kim lost his ariel- typical BMW bits falling off. Steve just thought it was a stick and didnt catch it at 100 kpm- typical kwaka rider hanging on for dear life! Danny went off exploring and the rest thru Toowoomba and down the Range on the big curves. Mike took off down the Spring Creek Road. Neall's Restaurant at Mt Glorious gave a stunning view of Brisbane and beyond. all upright.
